He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil W. Luffman and Lilian D. Luffman. He is survived by: his wife Marlene R. Luffman; his children, Debra A. Cheresnowsky (John), Wendy L. Chinchester (Steve), J'Nell Geer (Tom), Cara L. Groeger (Kurt), Jason Powell (Jennifer) and James Avenia (Christine); and his siblings, Joyce Gerlach (George) and Celia Gerlach (Fred). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
