He is survived by: his parents, Edward McDonald and Sophie McDonald (Balen); his close friend Kathleen; his children, Karen Brown (Larry), Richard McDonald (Brenda Cody), Theresa Cody (Russell), Diane Lieberman (Mark), Robert McDonald and Laurie McDonald (Ron Kingsbury); his stepchildren, Michael Francis (Dawn Kavenaugh), Rebecca Diette (Patrick), Melissa Faron (Greg) and Justin Francis (Bridget Berry); his siblings, Betty Drake of Edna Malloney, Edward McDonald, Mary Ann Kianka of Syracuse, Dorothy Ostroski (Konrad), Joseph McDonald (McDonald) of Elmira and Daniel McDonald (Jeanne) of Elmira; and his wife Kathy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces.
