He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Smith and Maxine Smith (Gardner); his brothers, Vincent and Raymond Smith; and his brother-in-law Joe Honan.
He is survived by: his wife Karen R. Smith (Kluczynski) of Batavia; his children, Matthew R. Smith of Batavia and Beth Ann Peters (Allen) of Churchville; his siblings, Edward Granke (Lynn), Elaine Honan of Williamsville, Suzy Weimer (Robert) of Florida and Joyce Taylor (Fred) of Florida; and his grandchildren, Tyler M. and Madelyn R.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
