She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edward Lewis and Irene Lewis; her husband James J. Horkan; her children, James III, Michael J. Horkan, Patricia Beecher (Svende), Madeline Whittaker, Theresa Horkan and Jean Horkan; and her siblings, Thomas Lewis (Norma), Joyce Cole (Richard) and Barbara Lewis. She was also cherished by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
