He is survived by: his mother Janice Cantella (Nee Johnson); his wife Maria; his children, Jim Cantella (Laurel), Peter Cantella (Rachel), Marianna Giorgi (Larry) and Joe Cantella; his siblings, Lisa Cantella (Dan Reeder), Michael Cantella (David Scott) and David Cantella (Pam); his grandchildren, Jimmy, Emmy, Jack and Evelyn; and his sister-in-law Laurie Cantella.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Permanent Diaconate of the Buffalo Dioceses C/O Deacon Tim Chriswell, Niagara Hospice or Roswell Park Cancer Center.
