He was predeceased by: his parents, Vito Russo and Margherita Russo; and his siblings, Vincenza Scoca, Michelina Rabasco, Jane Ciaramella and Michael A. Russo.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn A. Russo; his children, Anthony J. Russo (Dana Silver), Margherita L. DiManni and Daniel L. Russo, Jr. (Susan); and his grandchildren, Alexandra and William Russo.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
