He was predeceased by: his brother John "Jack" Townsend. He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Eric Townsend (Marissa Townsend) and Melissa Reed (Breton Reed); his grandchildren, Jack Townsend, Lincoln Reed and Juliana Lynn Townsend; and his sisters, Martha Townsend and Jill Taylor (Jim Taylor). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
