He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas O'Brien and Pauline Smith O'Brien; and his siblings, Jane Timm and Tom O'Brien. He is survived by: his friend Philip Pekar; his wife Linda Tallman O'Brien; his children, Sarah Misserian (David) of Tucson, AZ, Jennifer Kistner (Gerry) of Unity, NH, Sandra Spoerner (Michael) of Albuquerque, NM and Adam Stanton of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Rachel and Noah; his brother Owen O'Brien (Mary Lou); and the mother of his children Barbara O'Brien. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
