He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Brainerd; his children, Walter J. III (Cynthia), Mary Susan Bennett and Karen Loveless (Andrew); his grandchildren, Kaylin Brainerd, Walter J. IV, Elizabeth Watson (Robert), Matthew Loveless (Jennifer) and Molly Bennett; his great grandchildren, Andrew Watson, Joshua Watson, Lucy Loveless and Hunter Loveless; and his sister Mary Ellen Hanselman.
