He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Smith and Martha Smith (DeCorsey); his wife Dawne P. Cote; and his brothers, Joseph and Raymond Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Sheehan (Kevin) of Baldwinsville, Robert Smith, Jr. (Melissa) of Bonita Springs, FL, Teressa Clarke (Sherman) of Liverpool and Michelle Ambriati (Mike) of Apollo Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Nicole, Nicholas, Bradley, Matthew, Erinn, Michael, Nicola, Darren and Noah; his great grandchildren, Vaughn, Kaison, Onaleigh, Maddox, Hana, Lyss, Leah, Evelynn and Matteo; and his siblings, Mary Tafel of Syracuse, Mylinda Smith of Lafayette and Cynthia Tafel of Schenectady. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
