He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Mary; his son Michael Dobbins; and his great grandchild Colleen Dobbins. He is survived by: his spouse Olga Skotetsky Dobbins; his sons, Thomas Dobbins (Mary Ann), Peter Dobbins (Margaret), Matthew Dobbins (Meg Anne) and Nancy Dobbins (Northrop); his grandchildren, John Dobbins, David Dobbins, Catherine Dobbins (Gramiak), Stephen Dobbins, Shannon Dobbins and Michael Dobbins; and his great grandchildren, Eliza Gramiak, Ethan Gramiak, Jack, Nora, Maura, Claire and Henley Dobbins.
