He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Mathewson and Anne Mathewson; and his brother David. He is survived by: his children, Daniel Mathewson Jr. (Kate) of Camillus and Erica Mathewson of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Sean, Carter and Kellen; his former wife Mary Mathewson of Johns Island, SC; his sister Diana Neves (Arlindo) of Camillus; and his sister-in-law Ginger Mathewson of Cicero. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
