He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera McCarthy and Justin McCarthy; his former wives, Rita Mullen and Pamela McFarland; his son Daniel McCarthy; and his stepson Mark Stanley.
He is survived by: his wife Cicily McCarthy (Sorbello); his children, Michael McCarthy and Kara Cohen; his stepchildren, Richard Stanley, Susan Mende (Mark) and Christine Stanley (Paul Stevens); his grandchildren, Jesse, Jamie Cohen, Kelsie (Justin Shutt), Megan Stanley, Eric Mende (Meta), Matthew Mende, Emily, Sam Nessel, Kayleigh, Zachary Stevens and Yolanda Russo; and his brother Justin "Jud" McCarthy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
