It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Townsend of Baldwin, New York, born in Richmond Hill, New York, who passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her son Richard; her parents, Ida Fleetwood and Martin Fleetwood; her husband Edward Joseph Townsend; her daughter Susan; her brother-in-law Raymond (Rick); her niece Carol (Paul); her close friend Vic; her grandson Richard-Matthew; and her daughter-in-law Allison. She was also cherished by family, she was a stay-at-home mom and raised her children.
Later in life, she spent many years donating her time and service to the American Cancer Society.
