He was predeceased by: his parents, William Coughlan and Margaret Coughlan (Kiernan); his daughter Jane Hansen; and his grandson Timothy Earls. He is survived by: his children, John Coughlan, Jr. and Christine Earls (Declan); his grandchildren, Lisa Friedman (Todd), John Thomas Coughlan, Christopher Earls, Kevin Earls and Alanna Earls; his great grandchild Charlotte Friedman; his sister Joan Snyder; and his stepson Thomas Williams.
