He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Fairbairn and Luella Fairbairn (Sanford); his wife Maria Anna Naccarato; his son David; his great grandchild Taylor; and his brother Roger.
He is survived by: his children, Diane French (Harold), Sally Naccarato, Rick Fairbairn (Kelly) and Frank Fairbairn (Darlene Spaulding); his grandchildren, Heather, Erik, Jesse, Candice, Owen and Jack; his great grandchildren, Charlie, Dean and Mason; and his siblings, Bill, Matt, Sandy and Debbie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
