He was predeceased by: his parents, James Short and Alta Short (Palmer); and his sister Mary Short. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Sowles; his son David; his daughter-in-law Melinda Short of Unadilla; his granddaughter Paula VonBerg (Amos); his great grandchild Eden VonBerg of Bainbridge; his grandson Kevin Short of Unadilla; his brothers, Andrew Short (Reta Delorme) of Florida and James (Karen Short); and his sister-in-law Ellen Smith (Robert Nesbett) of New Berlin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
