With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Klaas De Waard of Avon, New York, who passed away on February 18, 2025 at the age of 80. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Klaas De Waard to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jannes and Jacoba of Waard. He is survived by: his wife Aartje (Van Essen) of Waard; his children, Steven (Sharon) of Waard and Emily Cochrane (Michael); his grandchildren, Jacob, Katrien, Cameron of Waard, Sean and Ellie Cochrane; and his siblings, Renne (Tanneke) of Waard and Addy Hollander (Willem). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home (350 Genesee St, Avon, NY 14414). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Central Presbyterian Church (133 Genesee St, Avon, NY 14414).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Avon Food Pantry (108 Prospect St., Avon, NY 14414) and the Avon Lions Club Loan Closet (P.O. Box 293, Avon, NY 14414) in his memory.
