It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John DuBois (Avon, New York), who passed away on November 28, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of John DuBois to show support.

He was predeceased by: his wife Phylliss DuBois; and his granddaughter Faith Ann DuBois. He is survived by: his son Robert DuBois (Heidi); his siblings, Polly Davin and Charles DuBois, Sr.; and his grandchildren, Angel Rae and Taylor Ann DuBois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“I first met John while at a Civil War Reenactment at the Genesee Country Museum back in the summer of 1995. We soon realized that the information we both possessed was not to remain separate. We set out to do a regimental of the 136th. N.Y. Vol. Infantry. We both gave it our all and finally finished it in 2015. We along with fellow descendant Liz Kaszubski started our annual Descendants Reunions from 2003 to 2018 at Letchworth, State Park. It was always well received. John was an great friend.”

He touched many people while he was alive with his knowledge of the Civil War. I was privileged to meet John through the 136th NY Infantry Descendent's Group..
