He was predeceased by: his parent John Freeman Barden, Sr.; his son Jeffrey; and his brothers, Victor and John. He is survived by: his parent Gertrude Swasey Barden; his wife Marilyn Jean McCarty Barden; and his children, Kathleen Beehler (William) of Poughkeepsie, James of Hyde Park and Brian (Jeanette) of Saranac Lake.
