She was predeceased by: her former husband Paul Smith, Sr.; her husband Wilfred Carnes; her granddaughter Sarah Smith; and her daughter-in-law Ruth Murray. She is survived by: her children, Gordon Smith, Mark Smith (Alice Boenau), Nancy Myers (Michael), Phyllis Smith-Trinka (George) and Paul Smith, Jr. (Siobhan); her stepchildren, Carla Carnes and Todd Carnes; and her brother Mitchel Terry. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members, friends, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Barbara Carnes Memorial Fund, dedicated to caring for her beloved pets she left behind.
