He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Hakes and Molly Mae Dickinson Hakes; and his brothers, Jerry and Leland Hakes. He is survived by: his wife Elinor; his daughter Ovel Rankin (Gary) of Cooperburg, PA; and his siblings, Merle Hakes (June) of Waverly, Donna Scrivens (Frank) of Waverly, Nancy Whitfield (George) of Waverly and Marylouise Sutton (Paul) of Waverly.
