We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2021, at the age of 89, Garth W. Walker of Athens, New York, born in Statesville, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Walker and Nettie Walker (Hartness); his brother Philip; his former wife Virginia; his sisters, Mary Norville (Keith) and Margaret Winters (John); and his siblings-in-law, Jean Oropallo, Antoinette Oropallo and Carl Fritz, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Marie Walker; his sons, Gregory Walker, Thomas Walker (Elena) and Joseph Walker (Irene); his siblings-in-law, Thelma Walker, Joann Walker and Clement Oropallo; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica Walker and Sarah Walker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Athens Volunteer Fire Department, or to The American Legion Post #187.
