He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Howard and Clarissa Cook Crosby; his wife Myrtle Ellen Crosby (Walker); his children, Verman Jr., Carolyn Duncan, Susan Ray and Joyce Harris; his siblings, Herman, Earle, Pearle and Frances Costlow; and his grandson Robby Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Cummings, Sophie Wix (Pody), Tom and Bruce Ray; and his brother Robert "Bobby" Crosby. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
