He is survived by: his children, Louise Ann Keneally (Robert), Lowell Edward Vining (late Jill) and Leonard John Vining III (Diane); his brothers, Gilbert and Wesley; his grandchildren, Jennifer Ragland, Christy Keneally, Brenda Sims, Sean Keneally, Joshua Vining and Jessie Stevens; his great grandchildren, Lakken Kovacik, Scott Vining Jr., Brian Vining, Leif Stevens, Asher Stevens, Hunter Ragland, Jacob Ragland, Hannah Ragland, Haley Ragland, Ashlynn Coffin, Madeline Coffin, Reese Coffin, Elliana Sims, Aubrielle Sims, Mason Sims, John Keneally III, Kelli Keneally, Kevin Keneally and Justin Sims; and his great great grandchildren, Izabella Vining and Rosamund Ragland.
Leonard was head contractor when remodeling a large church building for Hattian congregants in Immokalee, Florida; while retired in Florida, Leonard built a small home for a homeless man with donated land and materials, giving his labor as a generous gift.
