He was predeceased by: his parents, John Matthew and Catherine Angeline Cheman (Markovich); his wife Alexandria "Sandy" Cheman (Biskup); his son Jonathan Cheman; and his brother John Cheman, III.
He is survived by: his children, Tambra Cheman of Depew, James Jr. Cheman (Julie) of Buffalo, Julianne Wopperer (Scott) of Holland, JacLynn Klahn (Troy) of Arcade, Kevin Brooks, Jaiden Klahn, Xander Wopperer, Morgan Cheman and Cameron Klahn; his great grandchildren, Izabella, Vivianne and Oliver; his daughter-in-law Erica Cheman; his siblings, Catherine Crowe (late Robert Sr.), Juliann Burke (late Timothy Sr.), Michael Cheman (Karin), Marc Cheman (Pauline), Mary Reid (Raymond), Barbara Comerford (John), Teresa Lirussi (Silvio) and Anne Marie Anderson (Matthew); and his sister-in-law Frances Cheman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
