It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hugh P. Ely (Arcade, New York), who passed away on February 28, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Ely and Charlotte Ely (Sugg); his grandson Joshua; and his siblings, Eleanor Barkewitz, Philip Ely and Ronald Ely.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Ely (Whitbeck); his children, Michelle Zilak (late Michael) of Orchard Park, Lori Bernard-Szpaicher of Orchard Park and Jeffrey Ely (Joanne) of Arcade; and his grandchildren, Nathan Zilak (Alejandra), Derek Bernard (Shannon), Brandon Bernard (Deonica Olvera), Curtis Bernard (Zena Robert), Jaclyn Heineman (Holden) and Justin Ely. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arcade Fire Dept or Arcade Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 303, Arcade, NY 14009.
