She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Johnson and Alene Shaffer Johnson Church; her son Gregory B. Bettencourt; and her grandchildren, Lauren K. Bettencourt and Brandon James Bettencourt.
She is survived by: her husband James Thigpen; her daughter Pam Bettencourt; her siblings, Cynthia Johnson (Osika), Larry Johnson (Sari), Susan Johnson and David Johnson (April); and her granddaughter Cortney Bettencourt.
