He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Norma J. DeTolla; his children, Dr. Edward DeTolla (Kathy), Jeanne Mullahy (Brian), Dr. Peter DeTolla (Aimee) and Dr. Daniel DeTolla (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Josie, Thomas, Peter, Ryan, Joseph, Molly, Tim, Annie, Kate, Cam, Finley, William and Charlotte; and his siblings, Neil DeTolla and Nancy Skurka.
