He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice S. Battey and Howell C. Battey of Liberty, NY.; his stepsister Beatrice; his brother Donald; his daughter Kathy; and his wife Joan.

He is survived by: his children, Frederick, Randall, Karen and Susan; his sister Dolores; his sister-in-law Astrid; his stepson Michael Somers (Susan); and his grandchildren, Cherie, Ashlee, Justin, Amanda, Paul, Peter and Adam. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.
