He was predeceased by: his father David L. Benson Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Ardis Benson Sr. (Hashagen) of Antwerp, NY; his wife Michelle M. Benson of Antwerp, NY; his children, Amanda B. Rice (Zachary) of Pulaski, NY, Ryan L. M. House of Watertown, NY and Abigael O. Foster of Pulaski, NY; his granddaughter Amelia Rice; and his sister Elizabeth L. Cellino (Nick) of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by half sister and three half brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
