He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Judith M. Powell; his sons, Kevin (Tina), Bryan (Heidi) and Jeffrey (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Adam and Allison Powell; and his parents, David Powell and Margaret Powell.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
