He was predeceased by: his girlfriend Regina Hontz; and his parents, George Ferber and Harriet Ferber (Paepke). He is survived by: his sons, James (Debra) and Edward T. Ferber; and his siblings, George, Marcia Ferber and Edna Hornburg. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
