He was predeceased by: his daughter Jessica Merritt; his parents, Earl Merritt and Rita Merritt; and his brother Anthony Merritt. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer and David Jr.; and his siblings, Barbara Donahue (James) and Joseph Merritt (Kimberly Hulburd).
