He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruth "Ruthie" Smith; his sons, Kenneth Smith (Cindy), Allan Smith, Steven Smith (Melissa) and Jeffrey M. Smith; his grandchildren, Jacob, Adam, Brandon, Ryan Smith and Ashley Beyea (Justin); and his great grandchildren, Addison and Jettson Beyea.

Memorials may be made in Al's name to the Highland Hose Volunteer Fire Department.
