With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gladys M. Drone of Angelica, New York, born in Canisteo, New York, who passed away on May 15, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Oakes and Cora Oakes (Call); her husband John F. Drone; her siblings, Howard Oakes, Robert Oakes, Carl Oakes, Charles Oakes, Mildred Strobel, Catherine Racalto, Ruth Watt and Frances "Frankie" Oakes VanZyle Mackey; her stepson John F. Drone, Jr.; and her son-in-law Joseph J. Ganz.
She is survived by: her children, Robert "Bob" Drone (Doris) of Boynton Beach, FL, Steven Drone of DeBary, FL, Mark Drone (Helen Ratliff) of Hornell, NY, Catherine "Cathy" Ganz Rohan (Bruce McLeod) of Webster, NY and Lorie Downey of Pittsford, NY; and her sister Mary Lou Laruche of Buffalo, NY. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews.
Gladys' family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to St. Ann's Academy, 41 Genesee St., Hornell, NY 14843.
