He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Hyzer Liddle; his former wife Virginia Hood Liddle; his father Donald Liddle; and his stepson David Gardner. He is survived by: his mother Marga Liddle; his brothers, Donald Liddle (Vera), Martin Liddle (Peggy) and Richard Liddle (Jenny); and his stepchildren, Kathy Chalone (Steve), George Gardner (Jayne) and Ed Gardner (Becca). He is also survived by many nieces, and nephews.
