With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John R. Des Champs of Ancram, New York, born in Herkimer, New York, who passed away on January 8, 2022 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Champs and Mary Des Champs (Long); his daughter Mary Margaret Des Champs; and his brother-in-law George Edward Bentley. He is survived by: his wife Mary Carole; his children, J. Rob (Christina Des Champs), Matthew (Marianne Des Champs), Kelly (Walter Slentz), Carole Franklin (Daniel Mark George Des Champs) of Utica and Mellisa Martin of Waxahachie, Texas; his grandchildren, John D. Des Champs, Zachary Bunn, Kyle Bunn, Shelby M. Des Champs, Shannon N. Bunn, Anthony M. Cerio, Timothy J. Cerio, Kristyn, Merissa Cerio, Joshua K. Fabrey, Matthew S. Des Champs, Megan L. Des Champs, Brandon, Nicole R. Franklin and Ethan Yellott; his great grandchildren, Macie, Lillie, Sophia, William, Bentley John, Mason, Riley and Bentley Ryan; his brother Richard; his sister-in-law Janet Des Champs of Ancram, NY; his parents-in-law, Thomas, Mary Bentley of Frankfort and Judith Bentley of Clinton; and his godchildren, Jennifer, Megan and Eric. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
