She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Richards and Eleanor Richards (Close); her children, Jennifer Canary, Jenelle Polick and Sean Polick; and her former husband Paul Polick.
She is survived by: her significant other Stanley A. Johnson; her sons, Jeremy Canary and Nicholas Polick (Cari); her grandchildren, Abigail Williams and Andres Velez Jr.; and her siblings, Patrick, Michael, Terrence Richards and Laurie Pabon (Jose). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Verlene towards her grandchildren's college fund Gofund.me.
