Hilbert Ziskin Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hilbert Ziskin of Amsterdam, New York, born in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on May 5, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Ziskin and Lena Ziskin; his sister Esther Goldner; and his son William W. Ziskin. He is survived by: his children, Charles W. Ziskin (Kazumi Kuriyama) of Sapporo, Japan, Benjamin W. Ziskin (Lynnette) of Burnt Hills, Joseph W. Ziskin (Paula) of Westport, Connecticut, James W. Ziskin (Lakshmi) of Medford, Massachusetts, David W. Ziskin (Constance) of Amsterdam, Mary Beth Ziskin (Suzanne Mudge) of Bloomington, Indiana and Nancy Ellen Deneen (Peter) of Traverse City, Michigan; his daughter-in-law Jennifer H. Ziskin of Glenville; his sister-in-law Joan Wham of Cincinnati, Ohio; his grandchildren, Natalie Ziskin, Erica Ziskin, Max Ziskin (Aliza), Lena Sobel (Louis), Michela Perillo Green (Rob), Lisa Perillo Sherrick (Robert), Laura Perillo Johnson (Christopher), Andrew Hastings (Julia), Emily Hastings, Thomas Ziskin, David Deneen and Isaac Deneen; his great grandchildren, Joshua Green, Madalyn Johnson, Lane Johnson, Megan Sherrick, Sarah Sherrick and Robert Sherrick; and his nieces and nephews, Robert Goldner, Ellen Goldner, Sarah Wham Cary, Jennifer Wham Price, Ann Wham Gerwin, William Douglas Wham and Jeanne Wham Hardt.

At the request of the family, all those attending are encouraged to wear a mask.

DLB wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Ben - the loss of your dad and of course your mom is a heartbreak that stays with one for eternity, I know this personally. I was lucky enough to share many fun times with your sisters and brothers and your mom and dad when we went to school with each other. My mom states "the Ziskin family was the most caring, kind and loving family we had the pleasure of knowing".
