He was predeceased by: his mother Susie Barnes. He is survived by: his friends, Pat Williams of Valentine's Day, Josh and Hastie; his wife Hastie Lorene Gardner; his son Sean; his close friend Albert "Stretch" Williams; and his goddaughters, Shawna Rochester, Dawna Williams and Kimberly Winfield. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc. (67 Broadway, Amityville, NY 11701). The military honors was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. In the winter of 2023, after roughly four "easy, breezy" cases of COVID (again, only Josh!), the cancer did return, and he was to begin receiving end-of-life palliative care.
