It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rosa Lillian Mahony (Altona, New York), born in Staten Island, New York, who passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leopold Schoepl and Franziska "Fannie" Schoepl (Hüiber); her husband Jeremiah Mahony; her son Steven Mahony; and her sisters, Helen Steigerwald (Eugene), Ruth Hansen (Helmer) and Anna "Mitzie" Monty (Morton "Bud").
She is survived by: her brother-in-law John Mahoney (Mary); her children, Frances Grue (Daniel) of Altona, Donal "Donnie" Mahony (Ann Marie) of Altona, Leo Mahony (Darlene) of Altona, Ellen "Tricia" Fergusson (Timothy) of Altona, Nancy Wood of Altona and Howard Stoner of Altona; her brother Leopold "Sonny" Schoepl (Carol) of Freehold; her grandchildren, Maria Blondo (Ryan), Nathaniel Grue (Abby Leduc), Olivia Carr (Jimmy), Gabriel Mahony (Heather LaBounty), Ellsworth Grue (Kristen), Mallory Fletcher (Nick), Colin Fergusson, Felix Mahony (Carrie Parrott), Hannah Hynes (Gabe), Liesl Ross (Sean), Zoey Mahony, Patrick Mahony, Spencer Fergusson (Chelsea), Benjamin Grue (Kayla Meshefsky), Ryan Mahony, James Grue (Emily), Andrew Mahony (Jennifer), Nolan Fergusson (Kellie), Meghan Mahony (Logan Rainford), Sean Mahony (Carmen), Joseph Wood and Casey Mahony; her great grandchildren, Weldon Blondo, Elizabeth Carr, Leah Lashway, Rosa Blondo, Ethan Fletcher, Amelia Grue, Henry Grue, Jackson Fletcher, Daniel Blondo, Steven Carr, Isabelle Grue, Harper Fletcher, Nora Hynes, Oliver Mahony, Scout Ross and Jacob Carr; and her extended family, Nevaeh, Edward Baker-Burch and Darren Allen. She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews.
