Dustin E. Oakes Obituary

We bid farewell to Dustin E. Oakes in Altona, New York, born in Malone, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 31, 2024 at the age of 34. Dustin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his father Eric Oakes; and his grandparents, Wallace Jacobs Sr. and Deborah Oakes Conners. He is survived by: his mother Carrie Jacobs; his children, Eric, Scarlett, Alaia and Astra Oakes; his brothers, Carson Oakes, Daniel Mitchell, Chris Rice, Noah Ross, Corbin Swamp and Iorahteka Swamp; his grandparents, Darlene Jacobs and Marshall Oakes; and his aunts and uncles, Andrew Jacobs, Wanda, Peter Terrance, Wallace Jacobs Jr., Kyle Oakes, Shirley Oakes, Darcie Oakes-Cree and George Terrance. He is also survived by aunts and uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 4th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Akwesasne Homemakers (1126 River Road, Snye, QC H0M1A1). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 6th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Regis Catholic Church (107 Angus Thomas Memorial Road, Akwesasne, QC H0M1A0).

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions directed to his mother to establish a trust fund for his children.
