Jeanne E. Gunning Chapman Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jeanne E. Gunning Chapman of Alpine, New York, who passed away on March 19, 2025 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jeanne E. Gunning Chapman to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, David Gunning and Harriette Gunning (Teeter); her husband Stanley Chapman; her daughter Kimberly S. Smith; her parents-in-law, Nye and Mildred Chapman; her brother Donald Gunning; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Gunning and Roger Chapman.

She is survived by: her children, Kelly Hasselwander (Mark) of Queensbury, NY and Douglas Chapman (Tracy) of Alpine, NY; her son-in-law Charles Smith of Alpine, NY; her siblings, James Gunning (Martha), Douglas Gunning (Debbie), Kate Stillwell (Art) and Mary Crippen (Don); her close friends, Ben Dickens, Bonnie and Claude Cole; her grandchildren, Justin Smith (Beth), Nicholas Smith (Casie), Lucas Smith, Emily Hasselwander, Mary-Kate Hasselwander, Benjamin Chapman, Hannah Chapman, Colten Chapman and Ashley Gordon (Gary); and her pet Sally. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home (122 N Genesee St, Montour Falls, NY 14865). A memorial service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
