He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbourn Beasley and Helen Beasley (Forish); and his brother Wilbourn "Bill" Beasley.

Wendell's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.

“I met Wendell in Longmont Colorado,1983 or 84. He was living out of a tent by the river above Lyons,CO. I took him to my place and let him use the shower. I was working at a 7-11 at the time. My name was Julie Mayer. Wendell was going to the ski towns for the winter. He came back to see me on his way back home to be a nurse. I have thought of him from time to time. This time I found him too late to say Hi. So. Goodbye Sweet Wendell. I will always remember your beautiful face. JULIE GROW”
