He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Arthur and Gertrude Hamlin (Dungan); his wife Phyllis Gavitt Hamilin; his stepson Gary Robinson; his son-in-law Jim Travis; and his brother Milton Hamlin.

He is survived by: his children, Karen Ringelberg (Mark), Kathy Klingle (Michael), Richard Hamlin, Gary Hamlin (Toni), David Hamlin, Michelle Travis and Marcia Briggs; and his sister-in-law Patricia Hamlin. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
