She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson G. Button and Maude Johnson Button; her husband Walter L. Whitney; her brother Vernon Button; and her daughter-in-law Barbara Whitney.
She is survived by: her children, H. Mark Whitney (Kathy) of Allegany, John N. Whitney of Allegany and Lynne A. Whitney of Allegany; her adoptive son Stan Harris (Carol) of Friendship; her grandchildren, M. "Jay" Whitney (Amy) of Keeseville, Jennifer Kinne (Eber) of Allegany, Kristine Graham (Jason) of Allegany, Lori Buckwalter (Ryan) of Halifax, PA, Nathan Whitney (Nicole) of Allegany, David Whitney of Wilmington, NC, James Whitney (Mary Grace) of Allegany, John Whitney (Rochelle) of Portville, Carrie Johnson (Cliff) of Olean and Amy Gould (Shannon) of Olean; and her nephews, Larry Button (Kathy) of Allegany and David Button (Kathy) of Haslett, MI.. She is also survived by 26 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home (3128 W State St, Olean, NY 14760). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
