He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lewis Schwalm and Lula Oney Schwalm; his former wife Judith Scales Schwalm; his wife Valerie Pete; his daughters, Shella Gates, Darcie Hess (Tim Hutchinson) and Alexandria Bay; his stepchildren, George Davis (Jamie) of Chesapeake, OH and Valynda Forkell (Patrick) of Moncks Corners, SC; and his sisters, Patricia Miles (Kenneth) of Sun City, FL and Sandra Esposito (Scott Crawford). He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
