He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gerald Townsend and Eleanor True Townsend; his wife Marcia Marcello; and his children, Terra Lawrence (Christopher) of Rossie, NY, Jerry Townsend of Louisville, KY and Nathaniel Townsend. He was also cherished by one granddaughter, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Nathaniel T. Townsend Scholarship Fund, at either Hammond Central School or at Jefferson Community College.
