He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Greis. He is survived by: his wife Mary Greis; his children, Joseph (Dana Scholl) and Jennifer Greis; his father Donald Greis (Kathleen); his siblings, Susan Plorin (Mark), Donald Jr. Greis (Margaret) and James Greis (Deborah Garrett); his mother-in-law Lorraine Grzybek (late Conrad); and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Kelsey (Ron), Jane Pachura (Stan), Barbara and John Grzybek (Theresa). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
